I "inherited" a Nexus Asus 7 tablet from my son. The downside is, the USB jack pins (?) are bent and won't allow the cable to connect so it can't be charged. I've been able to remove the back cover and pull the USB/headphone jack off. Now, where can I get a replacement? Is there a Nexus 7 replacement store somewhere that would have these? I know that sounds dumb but where do I start? Thanks.

Search online.

Many others, or try eBay for a unit with damaged display.

You all are fast! Thanks Matt. Anymore? Is powerbookmedic.com a dependable site?

Don't know, saw another site that was sold out. Try searching on amazon, I've had good luck there. If you use a credit card, you have more protection.

I can find them for $50 used or $60 new. Ugh.

Found one on ebay this morning. Now the waiting. :D

Got the new board, installed it and all seems to be good. Now the next question. When I plugged in the usb, I got a picture of a battery then a battery charging from top to bottom (?), then the screen went blank. Is this normal and is it still charging?

Leave it charging a while and see. If the battery is completely depleted it may not boot properly, but there are ways to get past that.

Tap the power for the charging icon, when it is charged enough for you, hold down per until it boots.

It's charging but takes awhile. It must've been very depleted. Still says 4 hours to a complete charge.

When the nexus is off and connected to a power source, yes this is normal. As far as it taking 4 hours or a long time,I find USB much slower than an electrical outlet.

Hi: It would have been cheaper and easier to buy a wireless charger. $40 and work like a charm.
