A lot has been written about the partnership of Google and Nestle' in the joint promotion of Android 4.4 'KitKat'. It beat out 'Key Lime Pie', the long rumored name for the next iteration of the operating system and now we have the first promotion we've come across since we gave up looking for the special Nexus 7 prize containing KitKat bars in our local grocery. The above video touts the next Android version by encouraging people to 'take a break the KitKat way'...apparently by sitting on a seat attached to an orange billboard at a certain time.
The text of the billboard ad reads "The person having a break on this seat at xxx hour at xx-xx-xxxx will win the new Nexus 7 tablet." We see a variety of different people suffering through sometimes all-nighters to win the new tablet which makes us think if some of these folks were really 'taking a break' or perhaps were simply unemployed and looking for a freeby. Regardless, at said time a deliver guy arrives on a red scooter and hands whoever is sitting on the seat a wrapped box with a Nexus 7 in it which of course brings smiles from everyone around and a sigh of relief from said sitter. That's it, there's no fancy gimmick or catch to the promotion, although we hope no scuffles broke out at the last minute to see who would be on the seat. Kudos to that guy who slept through the night balancing on that seat though. He deserved it.
