Title: Hello from New Mexico

Just received new 8gb nexus 7. Looks sleek - wish I could get into it! I ordered it direct from google on Thursday, was surprised to get it so fast (probably because I opted for the 8).

I'm planning on becoming a tablet collector. #1 was Toshiba Thrive. After trying a dozen or so, i will get an iPad (maybe).

 Looking forward to being a member.

Welcome to the forum rdjw22. I tried the Thrive for a week but returned it in favor of the. Thinkpad Tablet or it could be in my collection as well.

Hi rdjw22 and welcome to the forum.  Also I have to ask, what part of New Mexico are you in?  I used to vacation in NM almost yearly from around 2000 through 2005, staying in Roswell on July 4th (love the Alien festival) then going either to Ruidoso, Taos, or Red River.  Beautiful state...

Such exotic places! I'm in the ABQ metro area, but there's nowhere in NM that's not nice (except maybe Hobbs. Sorry, Hobbsonians) Have lived on various continents and never want to leave here. We have everything except beaches. If you don't insist on water with your sand, this is a great beach, too.

Thanks all, for the warm welcome. I am really excited about learning more about this device and Android in general. I've languished in the Windows world for way too long.
