Title: Battery
Post by: Diachronic on November 06, 2013, 09:56:43 AM
Hi all, I just bought a new nexus 7 yesterday. I charged it up, messed around with it for awhile, and set it aside. Picked it up this morning and the battery was stone dead. I didn't power it down, but no apps were running that would kill the battery. Do I have a defective battery or do you have to turn them completely off when you are not using it?

My Nexus 7 will easily get well over 24 hours in stand-by mode. The only time I have seen battery drain like that is in a weak WiFi area where the radio is constantly searching for a signal. Check the battery drain while using it and if you are rapidly depleting it or you continue with stand-by drain seek a replacement.

Way too many variables for a definitive answer. What does for a while mean? How much life was left when you shut it down? Like Prime said..does it search for a WiFi signal? Rogue apps?
