Title: Reported Touchscreen Problems
Post by: Scriv13 on November 16, 2013, 03:32:56 AM
Can anyone throw light on the reported touchscreen problems with the new Nexus 7. See the link below. Will this be corrected through software or is it a hardware problem?

For anyone thinking of buying a new Nexus 7, beware. There is a problem with the touchscreen.

1)Trying to get the tabs to work in Chrome is almost impossible.
2)When using the screen keyboard, characters will repeat themselves several times and it's difficult to stop it doing it.

I have a 1st generation Nexus 7, which it fantastic. I thought the 2nd generation would be so much better. The brightness and clarity of the screen is impressive. The touchscreen simply does not work properly.

I've sent mine back.

I have had no such problems on my unit, so obviously not common to all 2013 models

I can honestly say that mine is no wherenear that bad.

1) I have no problems with Chrome, I use both the normal and beta version of Chrome without issue.

2) I very rarely suffer multiple input with the stock Google kb, I could probably count on one hand the times.

I'm not disputing that your having these issues Skriv13, just that I'm not or nowhere near as severe.
