Please everyone that is using Tapatalk make sure you've upgraded/updated to the latest version... version 4.x. Some of the older versions have a defect in the 'quote' function where it not only doesn't leave the quote but also leaves jibberish in the subject of the posts on the forum. We then have to go in and 'clean up' the jibberish in order to make it readable which is a pain. Thx,
BFM

I have the Pro version. Is it still causing problems?

I'm not sure if it's the pro or free version. I just noticed today both on this forum and on nexus5forum.com i had several people using tapatalk where it was leaving the jibberish in subject line when they were quoting. I noticed that the signature on their posts said 'tapatalk' but not 'tapatalk 4' like the version 4 says. I'm assuming that it must be an older version that they never updated so it's still causing that quote problem.

I don't think yours is up to date JayJ. Notice how your sig says 'Tapatalk' but not 'Tapatalk 4' like the others.

It's no longer called Tapatalk 4 though, since it was merged with the HD it's just Tapatalk... I think...
I've just switched over from the Pro as Barry is using to the other version, my sig still says Tapatalk and not 4... This is so confusing, they really made a mess of the updates and merging...

Edit- Anybody else using Tapatalk 4 (non-Pro) that can't edit posts on their N7??
But I can using the same Tapatalk on my Nexus 5?? :-\

Apparently v4.1.0 does not edit.
Edit: v4.2.5 does edit, from the device.
Hope this helps, I had noticed that v4.1.0 would not edit, so I went to v4.2.5, because it would edit.

Okay so I think I even more confused now... I am using Pro on my Nexus 7 but the icon is different. Also the version number too...
Maybe this will shed some light on this...
https://support.tapatalk.com/threads/sorry-we-confused-you.20939/
So Tapatalk Pro is the main version but it has a different icon on a phone to a tablet and whilst on a phone it's version 4.2.5 but on a tablet it's version 4.1.0.

It becomes even more confusing comparing the two versions on a tablet verses a phone. If you are like me and you originally purchased Tapatalk2 and later purchased Tapatalk HD then you should have two versions. Tapatalk HD is now 4.1.0 Tapatalk2 is 4.2.5. On a tablet the icons are identical but if you look in apps you will note that 4.1.0 is about 35 MB and 4.2.5 is about 24 MB. On my phone, 4.1.0 has and icon stating "Pro", but in apps the version shows 4.2.5 but the installation size is still about 35 MB. The phone version without "Pro" on the icon shows version 4.2.5, as well, but the installation size is about 24 MB. The bottom line is that we have two versions for phones and tablets, as confusing as it is. I participated in the beta testing on the Tapatalk forum and finally grew weary of it and settled on the version on my phone and tablet that has the installation size of 24 MB. In the Play Store you will see Tapatalk and Tapatalk Pro, but for me Tapatalk is the best choice.

Yes agreed Prime I too have bought both versions of Tapatalk and beta tested Tapatalk 4 so I too have the two versions.
I never liked the tablet UI on my Nexus 7 so I'll be using the original Tapatalk on both my Nexus 7 and Nexus 5.

I don't see any difference either? I know mine was making weird symbols at one point but I couldn't see it happening unless I went on the Web page.

I had both Tapatalk (v4.25) and Tapatalk Pro (v4.25) installed on my Nexus 5.
I have uninstalled Tapatalk, leaving the Pro version.
Really confusing!!

There's no difference between the two on a phone but I really don't understand why the Pro version is a lower version number on a Tablet??

I'll check my Nexus 10 once it's charged.
I think I have 4 and HD installed.

This! Success. Test again, pro is editing with the pencil tool and the tools icon for me. Version is 4.4.0

Tapatalk Pro claims to support in line photo upload. Here goes a trial:
Edit: Nice to be able to post in line images, but PRO fails to edit. I am editing with Tapatalk free. They certainly need to fix this.
Edit test.

(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/04/retupeje.jpg)Do the images use the uploads folder? I was never able to clear mine, erased all my screenshots in old posts.

With version 4.4.0 that became available today, the edit function is available again.

matt the image url indicates that it is stored on the Tapatalk server. For example this is the url for the above image.

Thx, prime. That bypasses the web host inadequacies. Any idea of tapatalk limits on img size and aggregate upload limit?
The app updates must be staged rollout now.

matt, I would assume that the image size is optimized for the Tapatalk server. As for quantity, the description for Tapatalk Pro in the Play Store states that it includes unlimited storage without watermarks.
