Title: Playing Videos in the New York Times App
Post by: mdjonessc on January 13, 2014, 11:04:32 AM
Help. Ever since I upgraded to 4.4.2 (Kit Kat?), I can't play videos from the New York Times App (even though I have no problem using the Chrome browser to go to NYTimes.com and play videos). When I'm reading an article in the app and hit the video play button, the screen switches to landscape mode, goes black and after about a minute says that the NYTimes app is not responding; do I want to close it. I have had several discussions with the New York Times help desk, and they have been useless so far. Any ideas?

Sorry about your issue. When the developer of an app is useless. I dump it. It sounds like it is not compatible with the new version. If you want to be on top as far as development goes, you need patience.

Does it on mine too, only in portrait. If I click on a video when in landscape it plays. Suspect embedded video player needs update.

Contact the application developer for clarification. Contact details can be found on the applications Play store page.
