Title: Retired and NEW to Tablet Computing
Post by: Tasgandy on February 02, 2014, 11:11:02 PM
Hi there Forum members. the truth of it is that I'm now retired from the IT world (Network Admin & Consultant) PC, OSX & Ubuntu..........Servers, Desktops and Laptops only, so I wanted a replacement for a 2005 Mac laptop running OSX 10.4.11. Reckoned that the 7" tablet would do the job correctly configured for a retired Geek.
So following my Daughter's example of a purchased 2nd Gen Nexus 7 the second week that they were released here in Aus. and my research I choose the Nexus 7 as the ideal replacement (no 4G). I find the unit to big as a phone and I use a wireless mobile broadband (Telstra Elite - ability to connects 5 devices simultaneously).
Based on her "glowing" reports I purchased my 2nd Gen Nexus 7 some 2 weeks ago, along with a Qi Wireless charger and a Wireless/Bluetooth combination keyboard case.

I am pleased to say the Nexus 7 worked 100% straight out of the box and I'm looking forward to getting some tips and tricks here in this Forum as I enjoy navigating/learning tablet computing. ;)

Welcome to the forums Tasgandy! With experience like that I'm glad the Nexus 7 filled that roll and I think your daughter deserves a round of applause for such a great suggestion. Enjoy.
