HI Am new to Nexus hence query Is there any way boost sound level on the Nexus7 (2013)?
-
Buy a speaker?
No, seriously though. Personally I find the Nexus 7 FHD speakers quite good in a quiet environment, add some background noise and that quickly changes. The best advice is either headphones or a speaker.

Get one of the cheap globe style speakers that sell for like 20 bucks. Work well and will give you the volume you want.

..and you have ensured you've got the volume turned up on the device?
Sorry stupid question but had to ask.

Ihave tried many things, a headphone amplifier which doubles the output
has no effect.
Plugging into a stereo amp. 50W, you could just hear it with volume at maximum.
By contrast my iPhone can puncture your eardrums just with ear pieces.
I have just ordered a bluetooth headset as I think the problem lies in the
output socket.
I'll report back if I hear anything. ;D

The headphone jack is very tight, try pushing the plug all the way in.

IT WORKED! a blue tooth headset has given me great sound.
I am one very happy bunny. ;D
That's all I need to say that the Nexus7_2013 is the best
Android tabby ever. ;D

I have reasonable sound from the built-in speakers and I have no problems with headphones or a speaker connected via a 3.5mm headphone jack or Bluetooth.
I think there's much true in Matt's comment, a firm press and that final click for full connection of the 3.5mm jack.
