Gibeyerson, Here. This is my first smart device. I have a not smart qwerty phone an no Android experience. My son is THE know it all and he got me a Nexus 7 tablet for Fathers Day. I am good with a laptop but still fumble though this thing. Yesterday I found an OTG cable and installed free apps. I can see pics from a USB now. I am 1/2 way to where I want to be.
1st I don't know the difference between first and second generations. Mine is 16 GB
2nd I want an app that will display a random slide show of pics from a usb. On my laptop I use Fastone image viewer for that. It entertains me when I'm not busy and I'd like the tablet to do that.
Thanks in Advance,
G.

Welcome Gibeyerson,
First generation N7 has a silvery bezel around its perimeter. Second generation lacks that, and has a camera on the back side near he power button.
You'll have to experiment with slideshow apps to find one that has the features you want.

Glad to have you Gibeyerson. Try QuickPic in the Play Store it is easy to use to arrange photos and has a great sideshow viewer.
