Title: Specific Task
Post by: muskokamark on June 22, 2014, 07:10:59 AM
Hi all.

I have a Nexus 7 and have been given the task to set it up as an email signup tablet.  A venue here in my area used to pass around a clipboard for those that wanted onto the email list but people's horrible handwriting prompted me to suggest another alternative of passing around a nexus 7 that would allow them to signup for the mailchimp email list right from the tablet.

This works for the most part however at times someone will close the app accidently and not know how to relaunch it.  SO I was hoping someone could suggest a method to fix that so that the app cannot be closed or the button to close the app be disabled.

Can anyone suggest a way that I can launch the mailchimp signup app and keep it alive along with the screen for the duration?

Any help is appreciated!!

Not sure you can. You could clear the main home screen so that your app is the only one on it.

If you're rooted, you could install the xposed framework, then find a module that would move the navbar or hide it.
But if they hit one of the nav buttons, all you have to do is tap the center one then the app on the home screen. It should reopen in the same spot with no data loss.

Lo-tech: electrical tape over navbar, rotate to use.
