Title: nexus 7 ASUS manufacture date

greetings from a newbie so new she is only now exploring her options for a Nexus 7 2nd gen tablet!   :D

This unit, nearly new (used 10 hours), has the attached product tag. How is it that it could be manufactured in January of 2013 given the roll-out didn't happen until late July of the same year? What am I missing?

PS. Even a 20KB file wouldn't upload. Best I can say is it is the last line on the left, and reads 2013.01.

If you are questioning the validity of your device being a Nexus 7 second generation, simply flip it over and look for a rear facing camera. The second generation has a rear camera and the first generation does not.
