Title: Tablet Name
Post by: alliecat61 on December 09, 2014, 09:47:01 AM
I'm trying to make changes to my home wireless network.  I have too many unknown devices on it.  I would like to give my Nexus 7 a name.  For example, Ginnie's N-7.  Can you name your N-7?

Do you have wireless security setup on your network and where are you seeing the unknown devices?

Absolutely, but you need to be rooted.

I use an app from the play store called "Change Host Name" for that very purpose.  So, instead of showing up as "android-(whatever)," it now shows up as whatever I choose to name it.

I think that would be so.
