I wonder, has anyone already got an OTA update to 5.0.2? Google released a factory image on its website recently so we can do it manually, but I personally don't want to, and waiting for the OTA)... If anyone got it, you can share here;) P.S. Already got mine;)

Hi got the update to 5.02 but when I try install it keeps coming with an error
-
If you are rooted the update will fail and you will need to use a toolkit to upgrade.

I am updating the Nexus 4 as I type this. Still no notice to update on the Nexus 7 yet.

WugFresh can be used to upgrade your Nexus 7 without reinstalling your apps or losing your data. I will post a guide and screenshots later today or tomorrow. I recently upgraded my Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10.

When you say factory settings, do you mean the Android default settings or do you want to revert back to an earlier version of Android?

Really don't know! What is better?

Since you have a first generation Nexus 7 you might want to revert to KitKat instead of running Lollipop, especially if you're using older apps. The way apps are stored and executed has changed in Lollipop which breaks older apps and they won't run properly if at all. One thing you can try is to uninstall and reinstall an app to see if it helps the app to run properly. If you find that you have too many apps that won't work correctly then you might want to consider reverting to a previous version of Android.
The easiest way to revert to an earlier version of Android is to use a toolkit like SkipSoft's Unified Android Toolkit. This toolkit also allows you to root your device as well as make backups of your apps and data.

I'll try to reinstall everything keeping lollipop and see what happens, if I do all the instructions to reset with the android instructions what will happen reset to 0 w/lollypop or kitkat?
-
I updated my Nexus 7, first gen. and now it is slowed to a snails pace. I will try a factory reset, but just worried it won't help.
-
Mine worked ok reseting it with wipe option, and reinstall everything I had on it, no prob at all, but I think is a lillbit slower than before with the Kitkat OS
-
How can I revert to KitKat?
-
I mean is it easy to revert to KitKat, it sound a little tricky

If you have a nexus 1st wifi, then I strongly recommend you to upgrade to 5.1!!! No need to revert to the legacy version!

Just upgraded to 5.1.
🙌 WOW! What a Tremendous Improvement. My Nexus 2012 is no longer sluggish and stubborn. Works better and faster than original. 15 min and LUVVIN IT! 🙌

After 1 week, 5.1 has made my Nexus 7 2012 totally useless.
Now on second Factory Reset, and its now working after dumping most apps and seeing what happens. For many days only way to start was Hard Start for 15 -20 sec, it would come on for 1 to 5 min and then simply FREEZE or Black Screen.
DON'T INSTALL 5.1 . Wish I could go back to 4.4.

I upgraded from the notification of the system although the performance is better, is not the same as the original was
-
Hi since upgrading to lollipop cannot download dead space gets to 25% and just nothing
-
My unit is stuck on 4.4.4. Says it is up to date. Not rooted. Why won't it get Lollipop?
