Title: Asus Nexus Recharge While Watching Movies?
Post by: enduro2 on April 30, 2015, 06:12:13 PM
Hi all,

I have an Asus Nexus 7 tablet which I often take to a friends house to watch movies by cabling to his TV by a USB to HDMI connector I purchased online. He doesn't have a smart TV so I am unable to share the movies wirelessly.

So as we watch the movie cabled to the TV through MX Player, the battery slowly dies and part way through the second movie the Nexus is dead. When I watch movies without cabling up to the TV, I can watch several movies without recharging.

Can anyone recommend a micro USB to HDMI cable that allows the Nexus to charge while outputting through the same cable? It it possible to charge it at the same time?

I have a response to my own query should anyone be needing a reply.

I'm buying a Chromecast for about $50 which will allow me to charge and transmit wirelessly to any TV/device with a HDMI port.

The Chromecast is connected by HDMI or USB port on the TV?
