Title: Email stopped working

As of 24 hours ago I can't access any email properly. If I click on gmail it appears and then within about 3/4 second up comes a box with the message 'unfortunately e mail has stopped'. This message appears about every 30 second whatever else I am doing which is irritating. Email is fine on my PC; so is this a nexus problem? And how do I cure it? Please help.

Thought I might have cured the problem by erasing the system cache, but to no avail.
So still help required.
