A couple of days ago my Nexus appeared to be switched off. I restarted it and it came up with the "Type password to decrypt data" message.
Now I had never set this option, so I was confused, but I tried a bunch of passwords, all to no avail.
So I thought I'd bite the bullet and hard reset it.
I pressed power and vol up/down and up popped an image of the robot on its back, together with the Start and up/down arrows. So far so good.
But then I realised that none of the buttons would work.
I repeated this a couple more times and finally I got the option to start the reset.
Screen switches to the Google logo and stays there - forever.
I've now run out of options. Anyone else seen this and got through it.
btw I've not rooted it, or installed any other dev tools on it.
Thanks

Try support.google.com/nexus
The first thing it says to try is holding the power button for several seconds. Have you tried that yet?

Hold the power button down for 45 seconds and your tablet should reset.
