Title: What is the rotating screwdriver icon?
Post by: chaikenj on August 08, 2012, 06:49:48 PM
What is the icon in the top center of the notification screen that looks like a rotating screwdriver at -45 degrees?  I touched it and my N7 froze.  I shut down the N7 and it would not restart for some minutes.

What is this icon supposed to do?

Do you mean the one directly next to the date?

If it's the icon I think your referring too then it's the rotation button, if it has a padlock that means the screens rotation is locked in portrait and if it's an oblong that means rotation is enabled and if you turn the tab when in apps like the browser and gallery the screen goes into landscape.

Yes, that's it, thank you.  After I installed the app "Ultimate Rotation Control", it took charge of that icon, but touching the icon does not work right -- either it does nothing or it hangs my N7.

Maybe Ultimate Rotation Control breaks that toggle because it works fine on my N7...
