Title: Connect Camera via MTP
Post by: tomreid on August 11, 2012, 12:04:07 PM
Hi All, I've been searching and searching to find a solution to this....

I'd like to connect my Nikon D40X SLR camera to my Nexus 7. I didn't want to root the Nexus 7, and I read somewhere that you can download photos from the SLR to the Nexus using a USB OTG cable and by setting the camera to USB, MTP.

Problem is when I do this, nothing happens. No sign that the Nexus 7 and the Nikon SLR are talking to each other. Anyone got any ideas?

cheers

I don't think it can be done.  Our N7s don't support USB-OTG host mode unless they're rooted.  You can transfer your photos to a computer, and connect your N7 to the computer as a slave device to get the photos to the N7.  Otherwise, you have to root it.
