Can anyone tell me why my wifi keeps turning off. It never used to do that. Yes, I have the 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' set to "always" and I've stopped all the power/battery apps that might be turning it off to save juice. I have a strong signal, so it's not on the edge of reception. And I can always turn it on and it comes right on. But close the case, it goes to sleep, later I pick it up and... no wi-fi. What's with this thing?? It seems to have started since I rooted it but I've been told that rooting would have no effect. Any idears???

I think I may have found the culprit here... I didn't realize I had the 'Go Power Master' app running and I think it might have been turning off the Wi-Fi to help extend battery life. I deleted that app and now, for a short time anyway, the wi-fi is staying connected. We'll see how it works in the long term.
Sorry for the false alarm,

Glad you sorted it radio, personally I think power saving apps are a waste of time but it's user choice...

Yeah, think you're right Jay. I'm offloading any I have on any of my android devices... most of it is common sense anyways.

I have a similar problem, but I'm not rooted nor do I use any task killers.
In my case, it seems that my Wifi goes to sleep with the device and when it wakes up it seems that the Wif is ON (bases on the notification icon), but the wifi wont work unless i toggle it OFF and then ON again. Then I'm fine until the device goes to sleep again.
(And yes, My Wifi is set to be 'always on')
Has anyone else heard of or experienced this?
