Title: Charging time.
Post by: raisantos on August 14, 2012, 10:01:53 PM
unfortunately for me, it feels like mine chargers longer than I expected. So far it takes me 36 mins to charge 10% on my nexus with screen on standbye and wifi turned on. That equates to an even 6 hours to fully charge my device. A little too long compared to some of the devices I've had in the past (I must admit that they're all Apple products; Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3), they all charge to 100% in less than 4 hours. Maybe I'm not used to micro USB chargers yet.

Is there anything else using battery power? I found. Facebook using 40% of battery, Android OS using 30% until I shut them down.

I found the problem why mine charges so long and I'm the one to blame. I have been using a diff cable, one that I have in the past already, and I bought a 6ft cable as well, both of them takes about 6 hours to fully charge my N7. If I use the OEM cable and charger, charging time is about 4 hours, which is exactly what I was expecting.
I wonder if anyone has found an aftermarket charger that charges our N7 as fast as the stock one. The one they sell at Google play store is $25. Chargers for my other devices from Amazon are dirt cheap. Hope I don't have to shell $25 for an extra charger.

There are at least 3 other threads on this site on the subject of charging.  I copied an Amazon charger review to two of them.  According to that reviewer, most aftermarket  chargers supply 2.1A to iPhones, but only 0.5A to non-Apple devices, due to differences in pinouts/cabling.
