Once I search for and find a file using ES File Explorer, how can I see where the file is (in what folder)? Can I delete or move the file using ES File Explorer? If yes, how?

Yeah, I'd like to find some good instructions for ES Explorer as well...

You may have to change ES File Explorer's default settings, but mine shows the current directory path at the top bar of my display. I set mine up to see the root directory (I'm rooted) and to show hidden files. I also set it to show SDcard storage available.
You can move/delete files and directories by pressing the Select icon, select your files, press settings, press operations, choose copy, move, etc. Once you've chosen your operation, go to the directory where you want to move them, and paste them there, using the paste button that appears when you choose the operation.

Mine is the same, except not rooted. It is still a mystery. For example, I downloaded some files from Google Drive. If I remember the names of the files I can search for them with ES File Explorer and find them. The top bar of ES File Explorer says /sdcard. But if look in that directory and every other directory in turn, they are nowhere. I don't see how I could use them if I don't know where they are.
Connecting my N7 to my computer by USB, I do not find the files using my computer's search capabilities either.

I always do my searches from the (top) root directory. A lot of apps install auxiliary files at levels above sdcard, where they're invisible to normal users. See the attached screen capture for remnants of a slot machine app left after uninstalling the app.
I'm not sure if unrooted users can see the root directory with ES File Explorer, but try ES File Explorer's menu, settings, and see if "Up to Root" is checkable.
