Is there an easy way to verify that the N7 webcam is working?
Thought I could do this from Skype (for Android) but I do not see their Tools utility in this version.

Try this...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modaco.cameralauncher

Thanks for the webcam App
I assume that this turns the webcam on and off. What is its purpose besides test verification?
Is it necessary to use this App when working with Skype?
-
The MoDaCo app is a camera launcher, allowing you to take still & video pictures. You shouldn't need it to use Skype. I think the OP may be confusing video camera function with webcam function?
-
I've not used Skype myself and I don't want to mislead anybody but I have read that a camera app must be install for Skype to work?
Maybe somebody with Skype can clear this up?
-
I Skyped my son's family last night w/o launching a camera app first. My understanding is Google included the camera op coding, but didn't provide a way of implementing it. The MoDaCo launcher does only that. Apparently Skype does, too.

That's fair enough bird, thanks for clearing it up.

No problem, JJ. Here are some of the camera files found in a search. All the June dated files came pre-loaded.

I wish that app would work for me... Always just says "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped" >:(

There has to be more to it radio, something is causing your issues because it works fine for myself and many others so maybe another application is clashing with his one?

Yup, I'll keep looking into it. I know it does work for a lot of folks. Hope I didn't do something stupid like delete a program that's needed for the camera to function. I'll keep lookin'.
