One of the features missing from most mobile operating systems including Android is the ability to 'float' an app above others.  This capability is especially useful in an application that is often used alongside other apps such as a chat client where you might want to have a conversation while simultaneously browsing the web or doing some other task on your tablet.   Well we're happy to say that 'LilyPad HD' is the latest in a small but growing number of Android apps that allows just such a floating/multitasking capability and it looks and works terrific to boot.  Here's a brief overview of the 'LilyPad HD' app from its developer, Tablified Apps.

Now as you can surmise, 'LilyPad HD' is an absolutely indispensable app if you're a frequent chat user that will save you tons of 'flipping' between apps while on your Nexus 7.  While it currently supports 'Google Talk', 'Facebook Messenger' and 'MSN/Live Messenger', the developer promises support for 'Skype', 'Yahoo' and 'AIM' soon.  You can even have multiple chats going on simultaneously...in different chat services... and the tabbed window let's you easily flip between conversations.  Of course the chat window is movable and resizable and you can have a 'quick hide' feature activated by quickly double tapping the action bar.   'LilyPad HD' is free for the first 3 days, after which you'll have to pay a small fee, although you can chat using 'Google Talk' after the 3 day trial.  If you've been looking for a better way to chat on your Nexus 7 give 'LilyPad HD' a try at the link below and let us know what you think in the comments.
