Title: In need of assistance...

My daughters just gave ma a Nexus7 for my 60th birthday.  I'm trying to figure out how to make this thing more of a tool than a toy, so I have lots of questions.  Please have patience, thanks.

Just turned 60 too. Have given up using the iPad for all but chart plotting on boats,
