From almost the day the Nexus 7 has shipped there have been various tools to help root, unlock the bootloader, install clockword mod and otherwise prepare your new tablet for all the custom hacks, apps and ROMs you could shake a stick at. But most of the tools and guides, including our very own Step By Step Root Guide (http://nexus7forum.com/index.php?topic=367.0) have been written with the Windows PC user in mind. Well I'm happy to say that our Mac users no longer need to feel left out as it seems a few days ago XDA member techfanatic9 put together a comprehensive Mac Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837401) for all of those Nexus 7 owners looking for some Apple love.
Now this toolkit will enable you to root your Nexus 7, unlock the bootloader and install ClockworkMod Recovery as well as enable you to undo all of the above including relocking the bootloader and reinstalling the original Android 4.1 Jelly Bean stock OS in case you should need or want to (as in sending your tablet in for warranty repair). Pretty cool we should say and we hope this makes our Mac forum members feel all cushy inside knowing that they're included in the Nexus 7 party.
