What do you do if you just released a blockbuster 7 inch Android tablet and you want to make sure the whole world knows about it? Well you put it on the Google home page of course and that's exactly what the company is doing today as you can see in the image above or by going to www.Google.com (http://www.Google.com) where you'll see our favorite tablet poking his head out and then settling back to a nice comfy position just below the search bar.
Now interestingly this is the first time in a long while that we can remember the company advertising a hardware device on the Google homepage. The last that stands out is the Nexus phone several years ago. This is one kind of advertising that Apple simply can't beat since Google is the world's #1 search engine and most popular internet destination with more than 40 Billion searches performed per month and growing.
That's a LOT of eyeballs that will see the N7 and possibly click through to the tablet's home page where they can learn all about our favorite 7 inch friend and pick one up for the bargain price of $199/8GB or $249/16GB. There's no way of knowing if this ad is just a one day thing or if it will be repeated. Any guesses as to how many Nexus 7 sales this will lead to?
