Anyone know of an N7 (free) music App that directly plays WMA from (from Windows Media Player)?
Most players I've seen require a pre-conversion from WMA to MP3.
Ability to sync with WMP would be an added plus.
Given the popularity of WMP, I'm surprised that a WMA player is so hard (for me) to find. Perhaps I am searching incorrectly.

You can try MortPlayer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.stohelit.folderplayer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImRlLnN0b2hlbGl0LmZvbGRlcnBsYXllciJd) or WinAmp (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nullsoft.winamp&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5udWxsc29mdC53aW5hbXAiXQ..) both reportedly support WMA format.

Took a look at the website info for each of these:
Doesn't look like MortPlayer supports WMA
WinAmp says it can rip CD to WMA format but does not explicitly say it can play WMA format. I'll need to download and give it a try.
Any explanation as to why players the large "WMP, WMA" market? Perhaps its a royalty thing.

From MortPlayer:
- Plays all media types supported by core Android (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M4A, 3GP, MIDI, Wave) and some device specific (WMA, FLAC), but only on devices which support them
I would guess that "Device Specific" could eliminate the Nexus 7
:o As for why more players don't support WMA, Windows Media Audio means Microsoft. ;D
