Vector Unit is the developer of two of the most popular Android games, 'Riptide GP' and 'Shine Runner' that are particularly notable for their gorgeous water effects and fast racing action.   Well now they've turned their skills to a racing game that has a similar feel, although much better graphics than 'Super Mario Kart'.  Your goal is to drive you pimped out beach buggy as far as you can into the mysterious depths of a tropical island while collecting powerups and upgrades that allow you to unlock all kinds of cool vehicles from dirt ready muscle cars to monster trucks.  Graphically, this is one of the nicest games for Tegra 3 devices yet and while I could describe it to you nothing will do it justice like some gameplay video below:

Despite what they say in the video it is now available at both Tegrazone.com and the Google Play store (link below!)

Now in 'Beach Buggy Blitz' you smash and swerve through a completely destructible environment which includes Tiki statues, grass shacks, giant crabs, lava monsters and more.  Environments are gorgeously rendered with all kinds of Tegra 3 optimized effects such as motion blur, lens splash water effects, dynamic lighting inside caves and real-time rendered shadows and incredible car physics.  You'll race through sun-swept beaches, secret caves, fog-shrouded swamps, ruined temples and more.   There's all sorts of customization features too.  You can customize your cars, collect wacky new characters, and you can upload your scores to the cloud to compare how good a racer you are with your friends.

This 'Tegra optimized' version is out exclusively for Tegra devices like the Nexus 7 Tablet so you won't see this on any non-tegra tablet for several weeks and even then minus many of the cool effects.  One of the perks of the Nexus 7 are these Tegra-optimized titles so grab 'Beach Buggy Blitz' at the link below and let me know what you think in the comments!

Thanks for the heads up.  Very nice looking game.
Gameplay is pretty weak.  Its just going checkpoint to checkpoint trying to get increased time and go as far as you can without time running out.  No laps or placing vs other racers.  Almost feels like Temple Run.  Even so, for a free game it looks very good and definitely a nice one to show off the N7 hardware.

I thought it was fun.  Yes, it's not the most complicated game in the world and you're right it has a bit of 'Temple Run' in it but the graphics are outstanding and getting to see the ever changing scenery and new locales and upgraded vehicles is half the fun.   Can't beat the price either.   Definitely good eye candy to show off the N7 to your friends with.

Great game, nice graphics, I just wish you could disable the timer.
