Post by: mandm on September 11, 2012, 11:29:59 PM
Just got my nexus 7 yesterday and luvin it! So MUCH to customize!! Question regarding google now. When I ask for temperature forecast it only says my province (british columbia) and not my city (kamloops). Any way to change this?
Thanks

Your Nexus 7 picks up your location from location services, so make sure that you toggle all three services on.

Yep all 3 are on. I guess google now doesn't know the word 'Kamloops'. ;)

I have similar issues but it's the voice search with where I live, the town I live in is "Felixstowe" but Google Now voice search don't recognize it. Keeps coming back with either Phoenix or some anomaly?

Doesn't even work with an American accent...

Been playing around and google voice does know the word Kamloops. I can ask the weather forecast for Kamloops and google voice replies with 'The weather in Kamloops will be...". If i don't say Kamloops and ask for the weather forecast google voice replies "The weather in British Columbia will be....". Forecasts are identical btw.
Anyone know how I can fix this?

Sometimes the more rural areas aren't picked up by Google, as they are too small.  I also have this issue, and I'm in northeastern USA, but my town only has 800 people, they use the larger, adjacent town.
