Title: Nexus 7 Vs. Galaxy Tab 7.7
Post by: RobotGirl on July 05, 2012, 07:16:05 PM
So I saw someone compared the Nexus 7 to the Galaxy Tab 2 but I think a more equal comparison would be the Galaxy Tab 7.7 since they both are 7 inch tablets with 1280x800 resolution.   The Galaxy 7.7 is more than twice the price...but it does have a microSD card slot, miniHDMI and rear camera (but not front camera which is an odd choice).  It has a dual core processor...not the quad core Tegra 3 but they offer it with more ram configurations 16gb, 32gb and 64gb (for more money though).   Also Nexus 7 has Jelly Bean while Galaxy Tab 7.7 is Honeycomb at least for now.  Not sure if those additions are worth the extra $250-$300  that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 costs though.   Nexus 7 seems to be more bang for the buck.   Any opinions?

i think the tab 7.0 is more comparable but the key with 7.7 is that it is the version that runs 3g with verizon - a really good fit for all this cloud storage kind of stuff. of course it'd matter more if it were ever slated to get jellybean, with all the google now features etc but i doubt it

I think you wrapped it up pretty well, RG!

A lot of the Nexus 7 features are part of JB, which the  Galaxy might or might not get eventually.
But the 7 is just more Google oriented and pure android, since it doesn't have the TouchWiz overlay like the Galaxy has.

I'm sure I left out some other features (Bluetooth, GPS).  Add the price factor and no one else gets close to the 7.
