Nexus 7 Help / Re: Logging off AOL
« on: January 10, 2013, 10:56:19 AM »
Hi Kjaerlighet,

I did not use settings/add account to log into my aol account, just went into aol.com and logged into it from there.  And it keeps me logged in to aol but not aol mail, I have to hit the sign in button for mail.  There is a sign-out button at top right whenever I go to aol site.

The Lounge: Off Topic Forum / Re: DVD conversion software suggestions...

I feel strongly towards DVDcat and talk to the programmer of it it directly. He is one of the nicest guys I know and will help you immediately with any questions.

I totally agree--I am tech challenged & Mitch walked me though the procedure by emails, he wouldn't quit until he was satisfied I got it.  Great guy.

Nexus 7 User Tips / Re: Poor Sound Quality from Headphones
« on: October 09, 2012, 12:13:37 AM »
Frequently asked Question

If you are have problems with low volume or poor quality when using headphones, note that on insertion of the headphone jack you will feel a two stage click. The first click is slight and you may think the jack is fully inserted, but the second click requires more pressure and is more distinct.

I bought my first set of earbuds today, and no sound coming out of them--I remembered reading something about them plugging in hard and searched & found this thread and the second click was all I needed!  What great sound!  Like a movie theater!  Thanks S.Prime!

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: Google Voice Bloopers
« on: October 08, 2012, 11:57:00 PM »
I wanted Google Now to show me a map of Bushy Park and I now have "pussy pump" in my search history :-)

Is this the Bushy Park high school in London, garryknight?  We lived in England (dad in air force).

Nexus 7 Apps / Re: Nexus answers your questions verbally??
« on: October 02, 2012, 08:07:33 AM »
My hubby and I sat around one evening composing sample email messages by voice with hilarious results (after seriously trying out the voice input & getting interesting word combinations).  I may mumble, but hubby speaks very clearly, and "Pete" came out "feet" and "crafty" came out "crappy" and so on.  It was actually a lot of fun.

Thanks for the reminder!  Picked up "Smart Tools."

Nexus 7 Polls / Re: Should Google Offer The Nexus 7 In Different Colors?

It would be fun to look at all the colors, but I'd probably end up choosing the black.

"Settings" to "Language & Input" to "Android Keyboard" (hit the settings icon to the right of this line) to "Auto Caps"

(It took me a while to find this the first time!)

Hmm, now that I reread your post I see you're looking for a toggle---I haven't found one yet, sorry! :-)

Nexus 7 Help / Re: Backspace deletes paragraph!
« on: September 13, 2012, 09:22:47 AM »
I had a keyboard problem with the backspacing demon that went away after I turned autocorrection off.  "Settings" to "language and input" to "android keyboard" (press the settings icon to the right of "android keyboard") to "autocorrection"to off.

I put that one on my to play list, thanks radiocycle.  I also enjoyed "The Lost City" and "Azada."

Gosh, I don't think I could leave my N7 off for 24 hours!  That had to be hard!

Thanks S.Prime, I've never thought of doing this simple step, but will from now on.  And thanks bobfuji for asking!

I also have a Nook color with an n2a card, which allowed me to download the kindle app, and aldiko, which  I used for many free books, and added the nook and kindle apps to my N7, and can't get over how fast they load and how clear and beautiful they look!  And thanks to this forum, I learned how to put the icons on the bottom bar (sorry! can't remember it's name) and remove the ones I don't use that often (music, video).  So thanks everyone!
