Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: Lollipop!.... when?
« on: December 20, 2014, 03:03:39 PM »
Our 2012 Nexus 7 is basically useless since receiving 5.0 over a week ago. Slow, poor battery life, apps that won't work, screen locks, etc. Still haven't received 5.0.1 and I wish I'd never downloaded 5.0. However, our 2013 Nexus 7 seems to be fine. Not a great improvement from before but at least it's working.

Finally talked my wife into buying a Nexus 7 but I need to find how to sync her games from her smartphone to the Nexus 7 when it arrives. Found an app called DataSync but the device(s) have to be rooted to use. Would rather not. What's the best and easiest way to sync so she can go from a game on her phone to the tablet and be in the same place gamewise?

Found them. Excellent. Just what I was trying to find. Thank you loociddreemr.

Thanks for your suggestion. Apparently shelf wallpapers do not exist for the N7. I'd rather not use a self-made photo as wallpaper and prefer the more serious business styled app shelves for looks and organization. I'm sure a photo works well for you though.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Wallpaper shelves for my Nexus 7 screen?
« on: December 11, 2012, 09:57:12 AM »
First of all, I love my Nexus 7 and use it for pretty much everything I need to do on line. After going through an ipod touch, ipad, and kindle fire, I've determined THIS is my tablet of choice.
However, I have been unable to find any wallpapers that give me a selection of app icon shelf wallpapers. I realize a shelf on landscape won't work on portrait and vice versa, but I pretty much stay on portrait style most of the time. The wallpaper shelves is the only holdover from my wayward Apple days but I really like the organizational quality and style of shelves.
Are they out there, and if so, where? Thanks.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Re: Case or no case?

Check out the Blurex Ultra-Slim Case on Amazon for $14.99. I've had this case for two months and it works great. Tight fit adds little bulk; tips to three positions on landscape; has a strech strap for one-hand use. The things gets everyday use and shows no signs of wear. Best I've seen. Especially for $15.

Sure enough. There it is. Thanks JayJ!

Found everything but I would suggest to anyone doing this that they write down what apps, games or books they had previously downloaded or purchased. Google did not have a "master" file account for me so I had to go back and re-install each individually. When you find them they will note if they were previously purchased and you simply download them without charge. Worked that way for me.
Not to jump sides, but I find it much easier to recover apps, music, books, etc. for my wife's iPad as Apple maintains files in her account and I don't have to go looking. Maybe Google does that but I couldn't find anything.
Anyway, it's all back.

Haven't seen the 32GB locally but I bought my 16GB Nexus 7 at my local WalMart this morning for $199.

A few hours after returning my Nexus 7 to wait for the 32gb I went through withdrawal. Bought me a used Samsung Stratosphere for $25 and started downloading a bunch of my stuff. Whew! I was Jonesing for my android worse than I thought I would. This will get me by till I get my 32gb.

Nexus 7 Vs. The Competition / Re: IPad mini comparisons?
« on: October 25, 2012, 03:16:42 PM »
Every spec comparison I've read has the Nexus 7 hammering the mini ipad. I agree, very underwhelmed.
But, they'll still sell millions because of their promotions, brand, and the fact that millions will never, ever check the comparisons with what's already out there.

I have cleaned my Nexus 7 16gb and returned in to wait for the 32gb Nexus 7. When I cleaned it to factory settings did I lose the books and apps I paid for or are they somewhere in the cloud like Apple does. I have been looking for them with my android phone and can't seem to find them.

Nexus 7 General Discussion / Hope the 32gb is for sale soon!
« on: October 23, 2012, 08:00:30 PM »
I am sooo hoping the 32gb version comes out on the 29th.
I bought my Nexus 7 tablet at the local Wal Mart on the 10th and, since they have a 15-day return policy on tablets, I'm returning it tomorrow on the 24th and getting my money back. I then plan on going through Nexus withdrawal for 5 days until I can buy the 32gb.
Like I said, I sure hope that 32gb is on the shelf on the 29th.
