Nexus 7 Vs. The Competition / Re: Kindle Fire HD vs. Nexus 7« on: November 25, 2012, 03:13:22 PM »
I bought a Fire HD on friday, I played with it for a number of hours and had a problem where the wifi would still stay connected but no web stuff would work.
I read stories on the kindle fire amazon forums about many many people having the same problem :/ I took it back on Saturday morning. Now I have had both and have been playing with both for a similar amount of time. This is just first impressions and by no means a review. These are my early impressions: Nexus: - very flexible, does everything i have asked of it. - has both google play store and amazon play store if you want it - feels smoother - tablet is built better software wise - easier to use - does everything that the kindle fire could do and much more! - feels like it wants to be picked up Kindle: - much better speakers - same kind of screen but the picture just seemed a little brighter and there was more 'pop' - built a tad bit better, felt more solid - the kindle is covered in amazon adverts that you can't get rid of unless you pay money to amazon. I did not like that, if you really want the best out of it I feel you constantly have to put money into it. You can argue that for both to be fair but it's not shoved in your face on the nexus. When you unlock the screen you see an advert, when you go to the carosell, you see an advert, you go to anything from amazon you see half a page of "recommended" it was really annoying to have to pay £160 for this and you are still being advertised too. but as far as using the thing went it was a pain, no where near as simple and intuitive as the nexus I think my nexus is the much better of the two to use, but i wish it had the build of the kindle! Both are nice, the nexus is just very nice. 7

Nexus 7 Apps / Why can't I download angry birds starwars to my N7?« on: November 25, 2012, 02:48:04 PM »
I really want to play this game but my phone (HTC desire) would not run it and it would not allow me to download from there.
So I got a tablet, not just for angry birds - I want to play this but when I go to play to download it's just greyed out for both my phone and my nexus... why??? is there something i need to download before it will let me play it? thanks in advance
