Hi, bought a nexus7 about a week ago and everything was fine at first - didn't use it for a day or two..and had left it on my desk unpligged-as such it ran down..plugged the charger in and it was giving white lines up and down the display

i left it for 3-4hours and it eventually turned on..my question is now..my nexus is now currently plugged into the charger and the screen backlight is flashing on and off..will it still be charging>!?
