thanks for replies. i dont want to remove google search from my device (its the only one i use on my phone and pc) it just seems to spoil the picture i put on home screen. i do not understand what is meant by 3rd party launchers

i've just bought a nexus 7 and i well pleased upto now my only problem is i have a orange micro sim when i put in the nexus it keeps saying sim not inserted have i got to something in settings ?
