New Nexus 7 General Discussion Topics (2nd Gen) / My N7 and Asus
« on: March 04, 2014, 05:58:29 PM »only to find out the screen was non responsive. After various tricks and some internet reading I decided to RMA
my nexus to Asus knowing it had international warranty.
I registered my Nexus on the Asus "website" I say "website" because whether or not the site would load the next section was largely a crapshoot. but I digress.
So after filling out every detail, Name, address, etc. I made a ticket about the issue and explaining my situation and Requesting an RMA.
Next day I get an email from an extremely unhelpful person whom I had to explain everything again, including
Serial number of my N7, my name, address, etc.. Made me really wonder why I needed to register it since
Mr. unhelpful couldn't look it up.
Anyway.
A couple of emails back and forth and finally they tell me to send it 1600 miles to Czech republic for repair.
Ten days later I received an email from a Asus, presumably from the tech who examined it, with some pictures, an invoice for 140 dollars(about 102euro) and a note saying it had customer induced damage.
Not content with their findings I ask what exactly the damage was and how it could be my fault.
A week passes , no contact from Asus. 2 weeks. 3 weeks. 4 weeks, 8 e-mails and Asus has given me zero response.
This is without a doubt the worst treatment of a company I have ever experienced.
Every time I think about this I get angry. Now that I've let my anger dwell in me for a while I've decided
to take some action.
Any advice ?
