Hi again
Thanks for the input guys. I've got a new ribbon cable arriving in the post tomorrow. And will try the other suggestions if needed. I'll put an update on whether sorted or ongoing in next day or two. Ta again. 3

Doh!! Really should have mentioned that! Yes it worked fine after dropping it. Except that due to the screen damage, you couldn't reliably press anything on the screen. Ta.

Nexus 7 Help / replaced screen« on: April 13, 2014, 08:52:41 AM »
Hi All
I recently tucked my nexus 7 under my arm, instantly forgot it was there, reached for something, and let it smash to the ground! Cracking the screen. I ordered a new screen with the LCD thingy attached, fitted it.......and it won't do anything! It's a brand new screen, not a s/h one. When disassembling it, I did unwittingly pull on the ribbon cable a bit, as I didn't realise it was hooked onto the slotted hole it fits thru. I wondered if there was any incompatibility issues with a later screen and an early 1st gen N7? Any help v mucho appreciated :-) Cheers Smifo
