Forum Rules / 5 gHz Waveband

I have an Asus Nexus 7 purchased shortly before Christmas 2012.
I think it currently connects to my router on the 2.4 gHz waveband and would like to know if it is capable of utilising the supposedly less congested 5 gHz waveband. If so, do I need to set something so that this happens or will it do so automatically?
