Its said to be a good idea to turn off any device like the n7.. your computer, cellphone, tablet, wifi router.. they all benefit from being turned off occasionally.. it increases performance.

I use foxfi to tether my n7... it works like a charm.
If you get a slow connection, clear the cache for foxfi, force stop, reboot, try again.. I use a razr maxx.. 4

It could be a pain.. but I would try a couple of things... first, reboot it...
also.. i had to clear data and force close chrome.. it helped.. You could check your running apps, but jb does a great job of keeping the background free of clutter.. I also use a cache cleaner to keep that under control.. sometimes just cleaning the cache can help.. even if you have lots of free memory.. 5

I use the military shield on mine. I don't like the sticky feel of the zagg..
For a good install, go into your bathroom, turn on the shower. Get it hot and steamy in there. Peel off the old one, wipe down the screen real fast, then apply.. 6
