Does anyone have lollipop 5.1.1 installed with a successfully installed xposed framework?
I flashed 5.1.1 and it is cool. But my twrp recovery 2.8.6.0 fails to flash xposed. Twrp 2.8.6.1 will do it on the nexus 5, but that version doesn't exist for flo (nexus 7 2013 wifi). I was told that some earlier versions of twrp will flash xposed framework. So if anyone has xposed installed in 5.1.1 on a nexus 7 2013 tablet, please let me know which twrp version you have running.
Thank you.

To avoid problems when you system update via OTA, you might prefer to simply "freeze" these apps using something like titanium backup. When frozen, you won't see them anymore but they will still be there when Google updates Android and checks for them.

Do you have to have to be on Android 4.4 to accept 5.0? I still have the earlier Android version installed.

Just click on it and you can change the hour, minute, am/PM, repeat, on and off.

Is it possible to video chat with an iPhone user using Hangouts?
If yes, how?
If not, will another app do it?

Thanks. Can you explain how to sideload an installed app. I've never done that.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
Auto update option is unselected in all my apps. The apps I'm writing about do not update automatically.
What happens is that when I go to the play store and select "my apps" I get a list of apps that have updates available. At the top of that list is a button to "update all". Since I often have more than one installed apps that I want to update, it is very convenient to click on "update all" instead of doing each app individually.
So what I need is to not have these 3 apps appear in the "update all" list. That is what the "detach from market" item is supposed to do and it does it - but only for a day or so. After that, play store refreshes itself and the detached apps reappear in the "update all" list!
In other words I need some way to detach apps from the market - *permanently*.

There are some paid apps that were better before the developers "improved" them in later versions. That is the case for at least 3 apps I purchased and have installed on my Nexus 7. I have them backed up on Titanium Backup and set these backups to "protected". So they are available to restore from.
Unfortunately, the play store constantly tries to update them and detaching them from the market using tibu only sticks for 1-2 days.
Is there a way I can permanently stop play store from constantly including them in its "update all" list?

I took it back, and Best Buy replaced it. All is well now. Thanks for all your help
how long after you purchased it did they replace it? Did you have one of their warranties?

May I ask why you side loaded it rather than accepting the ota? Is there an advantage? Thanks.

So, is there a guide to update rooted devices to 4.4 and/or 4.4.1 please?
TIA.

Without losing root! Updating ota is automatic. It's not losing root that's tricky.

Most popular applications have been updated already because the 4.4 source code has been out for nearly two weeks now. Yes the update will break root but as with the previous update I expect users with root and a custom recovery won't be able to update without at least removing the custom recovery.
I'm downloading the OTA update zip right now. 57% and counting...

is there a way to avoid losing root?

Will the 4.4 install unroot my device like the 4.3 did?
I prefer to wait till any possible bugs have been worked out and all my apps work on 4.4. How can I prevent the ota download so my wife doesn't unknowingly install it?
Where is the ota download found in the tablet folders?
Can the ota be prevented till I am ready?
