When I first got my N7 (3 weeks ago) it had wonderful battery life. I could go 2-3 days with medium to heavy use just fine. Now that the excitement of a new device has worn off I am not using it as much. The past couple of days I noticed a drastic change in my battery life. Now with minimal use I can possibly get 3 days at best. I have started keeping it in airplane mode and only turning on WiFi when needed but the problem seems to just keep getting worse. When I do charge my N7 it is over night so I'm not sure if maybe that was just taking a toll on the battery or what.
Any help or recommendations would be helpful. I have provided a screenshot of my power usage bellow.
Thanks, Maverick

I use the lookout security app. There is a free version that will do what you want. It also scans all your apps for any malware and has a "scream" feature so you can find it by sound. (Helps if you loose your device in your house or something). The premium version has a option to wipe our data or lock your device if its stolen. There are probably a few features I left out but I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you prime for creating this guide. I was however was able to figure out how to transfer my contacts last night before you created this guide. I used a method very similar to this. It may be different for me because I am on a Mac but I'm not sure.
Here is the method I used: (almost identical) 1. Open contacts on your phone, open the menu, find import/export to SD option.
2. Export contacts to SD. (My problem was that my contacts were set as phone contacts instead of Google contacts so when you export it will prompt you with a question asking if you want to export Google contacts or phone contacts. You need to select phone).
3. Once transfer is complete power down your phone and remove the SD card and insert it into a card reader.
4. Open the SD card file and scroll down until you see a file with a contact icon (not sure exactly what it says but make sure I does not say google).
5. Transfer that file onto your desktop.
6. Open Google contacts on your computers browser and find import/export.
7. Import your phone contacts to Google and then sync your nexus 7 with Google contacts.
(This process will also work if you are just trying to change your phone contacts to Google contacts.)

I downloaded foxfi but haven't had a chance to try it out because I barely get 3g much less 4g at my house. It uses Bluetooth so I would assume that the speeds would be slower than using regular WiFi tethering. I really do need to root my thunderbolt but considering I have a Mac its a total pain in the butt.

I have all the contact sync options enabled. So far I have found out that all my contacts are saved under my phone. When I go to create a contact the first option is contact type. There is an option for a Google contact but since all my contacts came from back up assistant when I got my phone naturally they were saved as phone. When you go to edit a contacts there is not an option to change the contact type. So the question know is how to change contacts from phone to Google.

I would like to get all of the contacts that are on my phone into my nexus. Google has its contacts sync thing but it seems to only be going one way for me. If I add a contacts to my Google contacts on my computer it will sync onto my phone and my nexus but non of the per existing contacts on my phone show up. Am I doing something wrong.
How did you guys get your contacts transfered onto your nexus?
Thanks, Maverick

I was wondering if anyone knew of an email app that would be able to connect via Bluetooth to my phone so that i can do email on the go. I have an app called tablet talk that does the same thing for text messages and it works very well. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Maverick
