So, I just got done restoring life into my Nexus. I bought an 8gb off eBay for $100 that had a dead battery. I transplanted my 32GB mainboard and battery into it and fired it up with no issues!

I agree with Barry. Rom toolbox can be dangerous if you get too curious and aren't certain about what you're doing.  A Nandoid should be your best friend with this app. Some changes cannot be undone without it.

Some apps like ES File Explorer have multiple options for root privileges. Just having root does nothing until you make your selection in the settings. Without root you cannot make a selection, but the options limit the potential risks. You can allow the explorer to read up to root directory, write up to root, and finally, write to /system.

Download Titanium Backup from Google play. I highly recommend the pro version. When the app loads, grant su permission. Click on backup/restore, should be the tab in the top center. Scroll through your installed apps and find the one you want. Long press until a menu pops up. Scroll to the bottom and select convert to system app. That's all there is to it. It should turn red in the list of apps.

How are you going about installing it? I'm assuming not through Google play? Have you tried setting the permissions on the apk? Try moving it into the data/app folder, changing permissions and installing by opening with a file explorer.

In second user profiles, the app isn't installed twice, but the app references a second data folder. Maybe copy the data folder from the original profile...

Here's a suggestion for those rooted users using a third party launcher. Use Titanium to convert your launcher to a system app. This will protect it in the event you do a factory reset. This way you do not have to set up your widgets again.

If you deleted them, you will have to add the widget back. Personally, I'm not fond off that widget, and recommend adding what suits your specific needs.

Apex works well too. I like its similarities to Trebuchet, the cyanogenmod launcher.

Your issue here lies in the phone. It must be jailbroken if you wish to tether. For what reason so you wish to tether without Wi-Fi? The speed on Bluetooth is not made out for tethering.

No. You've done all that's necessary. As long as all boxes are checked, you have your bases covered.

I saw a write up on drippler about that happening. There was a trick plugging it it and unplugging between cycles that worked.

Here's a link to what I found.

DroidTV

Download the file. Open it and click install. If it asks you to allow apps from unknown sources, check the box.

I found the actual app, but its no longer supported by the developer. Do you currently have this on another device?  What I saw was $3.99 for a 3 month subscription.
