The Android ecosystem has a nearly limitless number of apps, games, movies and music to enjoy through Google's Play Store.  But wouldn't it be nice if you can have all that fun on your living room or bedroom television all the time, even when you're not using your phone?  Play games, use apps, watch movies...all on the big screen and without having to use your phone to stream.  use the Nexus Player to stream to all your mobile devices.  It's a great compliment to all your Android devices and you can get a dedicated game controller for that arcade experience as well.

Now you might be wondering...well what's the difference between Chromecast and Nexus Player?  Well while Chromecast can just 'cast' what's on your phone or tablet onto a larger screen it doesn't have it's own custom user interface like the Nexus Player.  The Nexus Player is much more akin to Amazon's Fire TV or Apple TV and lets you access Android TV on your television with the Google Play Store.  You can  also use Nexus Player with its own remote control and have custom recommendations come up as well as view your entire library of content on your big television screen as well as play multiplayer games which you can sync across multiple devices.  It's also much more powerful than Chromecast on the inside.

The Nexus Player is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, Imagination PowerVR Series 6 graphics and 1GB of RAM, and it has 8GB of storage. There's support for the lastest 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1, plus an HDMI output for connecting it to your TV.   It's a great addition to any Android household and normally it's $99 on the Google site.  You can also find it in some other stores for $89.99 but for just today Best Buy has it as a daily deal at only $49.99.  That's a screaming deal and a great opportunity to pick up a Nexus Player at half price.  Use the link below and get yours before the price goes back up!

How many times have you had your phone or tablet with you and found you really wished you had a portable keyboard to write out a long message, email or perhaps even get some work done while at a cafe.  You struggle to compose your work on the touchscreen and you've thought of buying one of those wireless bluetooth keyboards but always felt they were almost as big as a traditional keyboard...so why bother?  Well here's a great option that is both small enough to leave in your bag, backpack or purse without ever feeling like you're lugging around a keyboard, while also providing a quality typing experience that is very similar to the high quality Microsoft Surface keyboard that is widely acclaimed.

Microsoft's foldable portable keyboard gives you just about everything you'd look for in such a device...portability as well as tactile physical keys and great battery life.  What Microsoft has done is split the keyboard into two sections, with an inch wide middle canyon that it folds across.  Now some of the reviews mention that the key size has been slightly altered in order to fit this configuration and that it does a take a bit of adjustment to get used to it.  But after using it for a little while you quickly become accustomed to the modified layout and are able to type quite handily on it...certainly a great improvement to typing on a tiny screen of a phone or tablet.  Normally the Microsoft foldable keyboard lists for $99 and if you look around you can find it in the $70-$80 range, nut just for today Best Buy has it as one of their 'Daily Deals' for only $49.99.  That's a bargain and the lowest price we've ever seen this cool device.  If you're been looking for a quality, super portable keyboard to use with your phone or tablet that gets up to 3 months battery life between charge...grab one at the link below before the price goes back up.

$99 Sale Is Over But Still On Sale For $129 And Worth Getting.  It's A Great Portable Bluetooth Speaker.

I'm a bit of an audiophile and one of my hobbies has been to collect all sorts of bluetooth speakers over the past few years.  So when I saw this deal today I felt I needed to shout out to everyone...BUY THIS SPEAKER!   The JBL Charge 2 is one of the best, if not THE best bluetooth speakers in its class, with sound that frankly is better than most bluetooth speakers double and triple its price.  Usually you find it for about $130-$150 bucks at various places and even on sale I've never seen a new unit under $120.  Well only today, as part of their 'Deal of the Day' you can pick one up in any of three colors; black, red or white...for only $99.  That's a great deal for a really awesome speaker with deep bass, piercing highs and a full, orchestral full sound that does wonders for any kind of music.

This is the latest version too with full passive radiator and 1 5/8th inch woofer as well as up to 12 hours play on a charge.  There's a 15 watt amplifier, USB and auxiliary charging capability and of course rock solid bluetooth connectivity.  Did I mention this thing sounds AWESOME...it's a JBL!  Pick one or two up at this price for yourself or as a GREAT gift for any tablet or phone owner.  I use mine with my tablet and phone while watching movies or streaming music.  This thing can fill up a room with great sound...no problem.  Links below but hurry...it's only on sale today!

Site News / Introducing our newest forum: 'iPhoneCommunity.net'
« on: January 21, 2016, 05:48:27 PM »

Due to overwhelming requests over the past year we're happy to announce our newest mobile device community, http://iPhoneCommunity.net; a forum and news site dedicated to the iPhone.  While our initial communities were dedicated to Android users, more and more of our members have informed us they have multiple platforms and OS's in their homes and many told us they would love to have an iPhone community here as well.   While we've dabbled with some Apple device forums for specific devices and the iPad before, we've never had a general iPhone forum that will cover all iPhones until now. So if you do have iPhones in your home, are knowledgeable about the iOS platform or are just curious and would like to learn more, please register over at http://iPhoneCommunity.net and help us build the newest and greatest iPhone resource on the web!  Don't worry, we'll still be posting to and maintaining all of our Android sites as well.  This is just our latest edition so come on by if you're an Apple aficionado!

There's a new rumor that's been going on for the past several weeks and now that it's been published in a slew of tech blogs and sites we thought we'd share what is "known" so far (keep in mind none of this is confirmed and it might be hopeful speculation).  The rumors pertain to a 3rd generation Nexus 7 that according to these reports will be made either again by Asus or possible by Huawei, the same company responsible for Google's current flagship Nexus 6P phone.  According to these "sources' the new Nexus 7, if made by Huawei will be packing upgraded hardware including Huawei's Kirin 950 chipset and a screen resolution of 2560 x 1800 while if it's built by Asus would more likely contain a new Nvidia chip such as the X1.  Rumors also hint that the design of the Nexus 7 2016 could copy the design of Google's 'Pixel C', but just be smaller.  The release of this Nexus 7 2016 would be in May of this year.  Again...all of these rumors are just that...but it's the first time in over a year that we've seen such buzz about a 3rd generation Nexus 7 and we'd be excited if it turns out to be true.  Stay tuned as we'll definitely report anything else we hear!  What do you think?  Would you be excited about a Nexus 7 2016?  Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Many of you might have noticed that over the last few days the Nexus7Forum.com site has looked a bit different.  This is because we've been testing a mobile-responsive theme.  Google this past year made it known that search results would be adversely affected if a site does not offer certain mobile friendly features and thus in order to keep up with the times we've had to change things around a bit here on the forum in order to make sure our site is optimized a bit for mobile search results.

What this means is that when you pull up Nexus7Forum.com on a mobile phone you'll notice that site appears as one long stream instead of the usual portal page with various columns.  All of the content on the site has remained the same...all of the posts, articles and comments you've come to expect are all here.  We have been forced to alter the setup of our site however even on desktop for right now due to requirements of the mobile responsive theme.

We will be upgrading the site in the near future to a more comprehensive system that allows for separate desktop and mobile setups but until that upgrade is ready we'd like to hear your comments about how the site is setup as is.  Please let us know if this new mobile-responsive theme makes it easier for you to use our site on your mobile device...or if you liked it the way it was before.  We're open to making whatever changes will make the site best for our users so please speak up and let us know so we can take your comments into consideration!

Thanks!
