BestBuy's Black Friday deals are now live and as we previously announced one of their best deals is on the brand new Chromecast or Chromecast Audio. Typically priced at $35 each, on Black Friday, which actually starts at BestBuy at 5pm Thursday,(Live Now!) you can purchase any two for only $50. That's a $20 savings. I'd do a complete factory reset. That'll wipe any data or pics and videos from the device and leave it as it would be if bought new.

Google held their annual Android event last week and along with some new phones and other hardware they debut'd the latest version of Android, dubbed 'Marshmallow' or Android 6.0. 'Marshmallow' promises to improve battery life up to 30% for just about all devices that run on it which will be a nice perk if it holds true. It also includes a host of new features and further refinements of old including 'contextual assistance, privacy and security features, Android Runtime (ART), productivity, system usability improvements, connectivity and storage improvements and much more. So we're a little baffled where GroupOn has gotten these from but they're selling the 2nd generation Nexus 7 16GB model...BRAND NEW for $149 right now, which is $80 off the price they sold for new. Of course the Nexus 9 is Google's current tablet but it's much pricier and they both run the same Android 5 Lollipop OS so if you like the smaller 7 inch form factor and want to save a ton of cash you might want to grab one of these Nexus 7s. Hi martyh, Yes, I mention that 32GB refurbished unit inside the first post on the front page of the forum. I would actually recommend getting it and here's why. While it is a refurbished unit the key detail here is that it is MANUFACTURER REFURBISHED. That means that ASUS itself has reconditioned the unit, that it has gone through a thorough series of tests to ensure that everything is up to spec and working well and anything that needs to be replaced or fixed is before it's given a stamp of approval. In the experience of myself and many others on the forum these are 'like new' units when you receive them. They also come with a 90 day warranty from ASUS itself...so in case you don't like it when you get it you can get a replacement. There are some other vendors which list as 'seller refurbished' which I'd be more leery of but since this is Manufacturer Refurbished I think you'll be happy with it. Another thing you might consider is buying it with a credit card that has purchase protection. Many of these cards will double the warranty automatically or even give you a year's coverage. You can also buy a BRAND NEW 16GB Nexus 7 which comes with a full year warranty from ASUS if you're ok with a little less memory for only $149 from Group On which I posted about here.
