So many years have gone by and it appears that Google won't be doing another Nexus 7. I'm wondering how many have replaced their machines with something else? I don't use a tablet as often as I did four years ago. I did recently buy an RCA Voyager 7" 16GB Tablet Android 6.0. When I bought it, I figured it was money down the drain. I was surprised at the value for the money. By the way, I still use an old N7 for reading and another as a picture frame.

Just installed a new battery in my Nexus 7. After three years, this is still my go to tablet. Anyone else still using theirs on a daily basis?

Many of the Android blogs are reporting that the Nexus 7 has been discontinued. Although I haven't found an official notice from Google, the machine is no longer listed on Google. Of all the tablets I've owned, this one is still the best and is used daily. For me, seven inches is the perfect size. With a case, it still fits in a cargo pocket, which makes it easy to carry. I predict this machine will be the "Windows XP" of tablets, in that it will be in use for a long, long time.

I'm a long time user of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on all of my Windows machines so I was excited to find an Android version. The software is free. After the initial scan, you can run a Privacy Manager scan for apps that access your personal information. Install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

How Many Forum Members Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electrical section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URLs

Voice Shortcuts Launcher by Project Trinity is an awesome app that I recently installed. It creates shortcuts for opening apps, websites, files, etc. with voice command. It works flawlessly on both my N7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2. You can run any shortcut simply by saying a word. Not surprisingly, the first advertisement the application displayed was for GVS Pro. GVS Pro combines Voice ShortCuts Launcher and Gesture Shortcuts Launcher into one convenient, ad-free app, including all the features of both these apps, as well as adding a whole bunch of new features! I liked the app so much that I purchased the pro version about 30 minutes after installation. I haven't tried any of the gesture launches yet, but I'm sure talking to my devices more. Today, on my bi-weekly trip to the library, I found out that there is a new library service for downloading magazines from Zinio. A quick web search for "Zinio public library" returned a long list of libraries. If you're interested, check your local library web site for a Zinio link.
Requirements are a library card and a Zinio account.
For years, I've subscribed to several magazines from Zinio. I'm looking forward to not renewing them.

The How-To Geek has an article on 6 potential problems and how to fix them. 1. Bad Performance After Upgrading to Android 4.2 2. Touchscreen Responsiveness Problems 3. Tablet Won’t Power On or Charge 4. Screen Separation 5. Screen Flicker 6. Washed Out Colors After Watching a Video I haven't had any of these problems myself, so I can't verify if they work or not. I do know that How-To Geek is a reliable website. You can click here to read the article.

It was interesting to me anyway. Although it probably doesn't mean much, this Lifehacker Poll was a vote for the best five android tablets. The Nexus 7 is far ahead. There are also many interesting comments in the discussion section.

I'm not much of a game player, but I downloaded Trainyard which I thought my Grandson would enjoy playing. He did. When the puzzles got harder he started asking for my help. It wasn't too long before I was playing the game almost full time. I've found this game to be as addictive as Angry Birds. The object of the game is to get each colored train to the correct station by drawing track for it to follow. As the game progresses, you have to move more trains with more complicated track layouts. There is also a free version, Trainyard Express. According to the developer, the only difference is the amount of puzzles to solve.
