If you can install another bootloader with fastboot, you can save your device.

I just saw your post on XDA Developers. You didn't tell us it doesn't do anything after you unlock the bootloader. That indicates a corrupted bootloader. Check that by installing the universal naked APX drivers to your PC and see if it's recognized as an APX device.

I'm not sure you're running fastboot correctly. Does "fastboot devices" return the device serial number? Does "fastboot ?" return a list of options? Are you running fastboot from the correct sdk/... /program - tools directory?

Front ports usually aren't directly connected to the motherboard..
If your bootloader is unlocked, you'll see an unlocked padlock icon below the word "Google" as your N7 boots. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 35

Windows 8? I've heard of Win8 driver problems, but none with Win7. Has to be Wugfresh's toolkit, as Skipsoft doesn't have a soft brick undo option.
Use a Windows 7 computer, a USB 2.0 port that's directly connected to the motherboard, and run the "fastboot devices" command to be sure your device is recognized. Then try the "fastboot oem unlock" command. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 36

Sounds like my Nexus 7 when it went into APX mode. Check what device your PC is seeing. The fix for APX mode is a motherboard replacement.

Nexus 7 Root, Hacks, Mods And Development / Re: KitKat 4.4.3« on: June 11, 2014, 11:17:32 PM »
Received the N7 2013 OTA today. It upgraded OK to 4.4.3 but lost root. I used Skipsoft toolkit to install CWM recovery, copied v. 1.99 SuperSU upgrade zip file to my N7, and installed SuperSU via the zip file with CWM. I used Skipsot toolkit to install Busybox, and I'm rooted again. Sill waiting for the OTA for my N7 2012.
Skipsoft hung repeatedly gong out of the Bootloader into ADB insecure image when I tried using its automated root procedure for 4.4.0. That's why I had to root my N7 2013 semi-manually. 38

Use a file browser to search for an isolated, unfamiliar ".apk" file with oriental symbols. When you find it, delete it.

Try this. Go to your Android device Settings icon. Then to Accounts, Google. Click the three bar settings icon in the upper right corner, and a "sync now" option will appear. I think that will bring back your missing bookmark folders.

I've been using Groove IP Lite. I hope it doesn't go away in May, as it and Skype depend on my Google Voice account.

Nexus 7 Help / Re: N7 (2012) stuck in APX mode with corrupted bootloader« on: March 29, 2014, 10:41:06 AM »
I took my other 2012 N7 down to 4.1.2, reflashed the bootloader, went through the blob generating procedure, and couldn't attain nvflash with that device, either.

I reflashed the OEM bootloader and CWM recovery. Still no progress to nvflash.

Thanks. That's a new link for me. I got my original bricked N7 running with the $50 32 GB motherboard replacement. It was touch and go, as the unit was completely and utterly dead after the PCBectomy. I left it charging all night, and it was still dead this morning. I was writing a message to the seller (who has a 100% eBay reputation), when I unplugged and replugged the charger cord, and saw the battery icon go on. An hour later, it booted into 4.4.2. It's now rooted, and will go to my son, as I promised I'd give it to him.
Meanwhile, unit 2 is my test mule, and it's rooted and running 4.1.2, but it's not entering nvflash. I just flashed CWM recovery, so maybe it'll enter nvflash with the new recovery replacing the flatline recovery.
