Nexus 7 Help / Download photos from Nexus 7 to MacBook Air
« Last post by Rabbit on January 13, 2021, 09:53:21 AM »
Re:  Photos on Nexus 7, 7th generation.
Want to download  photos to MacBook Air "Photos"
"Nexus 7 for Dummies" suggests need to be sure table is configured to MTP and NOT PTP.
Unable to find how to i.d. current configuration or to change if PTP.
I have been able to send individual photos to myself to open on my MacBook email but would love to
transfer a large quantity of pictures to "Photos".
Would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks,
Rob Crosby

Google officially introduced their new Chromecast with Google TV today in an event in Palo Alto and there's some amazing surprise features we didn't know about!  While we've previously leaked most of the details of the new device we now have the official price at $49.99 and you can buy it at BestBuy at the link below.  As previously reported the new Cromecast comes with a voice remote control so you can search for your favorite programming without having to hunt and peck on the screen keyboard.  The new Android TV based interface is a dream to use and lets you search for any title across any app it is available on.  It'll even prompt you to download an app you don't already have to get a title.

Now for the surprise.  Apparently the new Chromecast with Google TV includes DVR features that you can schedule and activate right from your phone.  You'll be able to schedule the recording of programs on your tv back home and then watch them...pre-recorded when you return home waiting for you.  How cool is that!  We're super excited to get our hands on one to test out.   The New Chromecast is available in three different colors, snow (white), sky (blue) and sunrise (pink) as well.  We've put a link below to purchase at BestBuy.  We can't wait to check this out.

New Nexus 7 Help (2nd Gen) / Re: Where does this little rubber part go?
« Last post by thinairflyer on March 04, 2020, 10:54:47 PM »
I have looked at dozens of images of the tablet and have not seen the part in any of them.

The part is not at all deformed as it would be if in a position of being compressed between the back and the circuits of the tablet.  It freely fell out when I removed the back.

I have been an electronic tech all my life (I'm 80 years old now and retired when I was 78) over a very broad range of equipment and devices, so feel if there was a place for the little rubber part I would normally find it.  Apparently, as no one has posted to note where it goes, I am beginning to wonder if it is placed inside the back of the tablet to be removed and discarded to indicate that the tablet has been opened; much like the little piece of plastic that in years past (may still be, I don't know) was placed in the pan of automatic transmissions to indicate to a dealer's repair section that the pan had been removed and the part was tossed by the remover when he could not find a place for it. Or maybe it was inadvertently placed inside the tablet by someone who opened the tablet at some time.

Or maybe it was placed inside by someone to make someone (me in this case) scratch their head trying to find a proper place for it.  LOL!

New Nexus 7 Help (2nd Gen) / Where does this little rubber part go?
« Last post by thinairflyer on March 02, 2020, 06:51:44 PM »
I removed the rear cover to replace the switch strip and a little rubber part fell out.  I can't figure where it goes and searches have not given me an answer.  It is about 3/16" x 1/8" rectangular in a little box configuration with a small hole in the bottom if the box.

I have an image but am unable to attach it, I get the error message that the upload folder is full.  The images in 16kb in size.

It's a vehicle gauge app.  But here's the issue, even if my app did have a pin, when the error code comes up on the nexus that tells me incorrect pin or passkey, there is no place to enter a pin, even if I had one????  It just gives the error with no way to make it right????

What device are you trying to pair with your Nexus 7?  Often times the other device comes with a pin for their bluetooth.

I have Nexus 7 with 6.01.  Couldn't find the answer to this thru search, which is surprising because lots of links on google but nothing so far has resolved.  Essentially my tablet sees the device I am trying to pair to, but will not pair...message received says incorrect pin or passkey.  However there is no place to enter a pin, even if I had one, which I do not.  VERY FRUSTRATING.  Please help.
