« on: March 03, 2013, 10:39:47 AM »
Is there a nexus 7 available with 3G capability? If not, is it expected?
Thanks

I too am not sure it is worth it either - unless the N7 was to replace your android phone. But that is not really practical either because of size.
Unfortunately, my phone's plan (Straighttalk) though "unlimited data plan" will cut you off if they suspect you are using tethering. That really limits the n7 away from wifi soures and is the only reason I was looking into it. But you are correct. Not worth it.

Incidentally, FWIW a week ago I bought my Nexus 7 16G WiFi at Staples for $199 which is better than Amazon.com's price of $232.85 for what I think is the same item. May be useful to someone.

I think it's worth it if you want a tablet with a data plan. What tablet can you stack up against the Nexus in that price range with 3G?

I meant it's not worth it to pay for a data plan on your phone and then pay for a second one for the tablet (plus hi speed Internet at home) . My phone carrier will apparently permanently cancel your subscription if they catch you tethering on your phone -  even though my data plan is "unlimited". So it's not worth the risk to tether.

If paying for one data plan could be used for 2 devices then it would make sense to me. After all, I can only use one at a time. Do any non contract data plans permit that?
