Battery disconnects
« on: April 08, 2013, 07:33:18 AM »
A while back I dropped my N7 and it stopped working.  Eventually I ended up popping the back off, and reattaching the battery connection.  All seemed well after that.  This weekend I was out and about for the day and took the N7 with me in my purse.  I carried my bag normally; I didn't swing it or drop it or use it to beat off attackers or anything "stressful".  However, at some point I went to use the Nexus and it didn't turn on.  Again, I had to reattach the battery.  Is this normal?  It seems extremely sensitive if I can't carry it in my bag.  And, yes, it is in a protective cover, although I don't think that matters; I think its the movement that shakes the connector loose.  At any rate, I'm not happy about this.

Definitely not normal. I always carry my Nexus 7 in a messenger bag and have never had any issues.

I'm not sure what to do.  My return window is long closed, and I have no idea who to contact about this.

Nice guide matt. Also the OP may want to consider a touch of hot glue or a strip of electrical tape.

I don't know exactly what the contacts look like, but often electrical contacts can be slightly spread (wider) by a drop or jarring on any electrical device.

A slight squeeze with pair of long nose pliers can help a lot.....but....be careful.  rich
